a little information on..

AFTERCARE

I use Dermalize tattoo after care.

I will wrap you in Dermalize, and the following morning of the tattoo please peel the wrap off slowly in the shower.

Using just water, clean off the plasma that has collected around the tattoo and any sticky residue from the Dermalize film.

When you get out of the shower pat dry your tattoo with kitchen roll, (not your towel as it will have small fibres that can get in to your tattoo and is unhygenic)

Making sure the skin around the tattoo is completely dry, you can cover in your second layer of dermalize that you were sent home with.

Make sure the skin is dry as the dermalize does not like to stick to wet skin.

You can now leave your new dressing on for up to three days.

Dermalize is water proof, so you can shower with it on, just try to not submerge it in water.

If your tattoo film comes off before the three days, or if it becomes unsealed, take it off in the shower and just continue to heal as normal.

When the time comes to take the second layer off, give your tattoo a gentle rinse under lukewarm water to get rid of any adhesive from from Dermalize, and also any plasma that is on the tattoo.

When you get out of the shower, gently pat the tattoo dry with some clean kitchen paper towel again. â€‹

Gently and lightly cream the tattoo with coco butter or coconut oil or tattoo healing cream you know works well on your skin.

Clean your new tattoo twice a day with non scented gentle soap, and clean it if you find yourself sweating or dirty- treat it like a wound and keep it clean to avoid infection.

Make sure you use sun tan lotion on your tattoos, and all your skin.

Avoid submerging the tattoo in water (no swimming or baths) for at least two weeks until the tattoo has healed.

Avoid excessive sweating  for the first two weeks where possible.

The tattoo may flake or scab or itch during the healing process, this is normal but be gentle - no picking or scratching allowed!

The tattoo process can take a while so please make sure you book enough time on the day, heck, book the day off so after your tattoo you can go home and chill.

DERMALIZE is a CLASS 1 MEDICAL DEVICE (Reg.1338731/R e 1338737/R), a thin self-adhesive film that provides a moist healing environment during the initial, and most critical, healing stage of a tattoo wound. It is the new solution that replaces the alimentary cling film which has been improperly used in the tattoo aftercare so far.It protects the new tattoo from friction and provides a WATERPROOF, ANTIBACTERIAL-BARRIER that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from entering the wound. The film is BREATHABLE, letting oxygen in and allowing excess moisture vapor to be released from the wound. It’s light to wear, FLEXIBLE and stretchable which allows it to be placed anywhere on the body and stay on, up to several days.

IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY TO ADHESIVES

I will wrap you in cling film. Please keep this on for the next 3-5 hours and then take it off and give it a gentle clean with just water.

That night you may want to re wrap it with clingfilm, so it doesn't stick on your bed sheets.

The following day, do not wrap it.

When you get out of the shower, gently pat the tattoo dry with some clean kitchen paper towel ( not your bathroom towel as this has little fibres and can be unhygienic)

Gently and lightly cream the tattoo with coco butter or coconut oil or tattoo healing cream you know works well on your skin.

For the next couple of weeks try to avoid clothes that could rub the tattoo.

Clean your new tattoo twice a day with non scented gentle soap, and clean it if you find yourself sweating or dirty- treat it like a wound and keep it clean to avoid infection.
