How do I book in with you?
Please send an email to sarah.strongarms.tattoo@gmail.com with ALL the following information...
- Design idea
- Design placement on body
- Size and colour
- Any inspo
- Dates that do and don't work for you
- Name, pronouns and mobile number

Once we have found a date that works for you I will ask you to send me a deposit, and a screen shot of that deposit - Only on confirmation of your deposit being paid is the appointment booked.

My books are always open and I am happy to take bookings for much further in the future if you would like to pay the deposit to hold a design to make sure its not taken.

I take half of December and January off each year, and do not reply to emails during this period so that I can spend time with the ones I love, thank you for understanding tattooers need time off the grid too.
Can I see the design before the day?
All tattoo designs are shown on the day, and I always make sure there is plenty of time during the appointment for us to go through the design and make any last minute adjustments together.
Are your inks vegan?
All products I use to tattoo are 100% vegan. I use Dynamic Ink, Silverback grey washes and Fusion inks.
How do I prepare on the day?
Make sure you book the day off so you have time to chill before and after the tattoo.
Some tattoos can take longer than others and if you have an afternoon appointment there is a chance it could be delayed due to a previous client in the days tattoo taking longer than expected.
Have a shower and eat a big breakfast, or at leat try and eat a good meal before as it's super important to have energy before your tattoo!
- Have a shower but don't worry about shaving the area, I will do this regardless at the start of your appointment, and if you shave it can lead to a shaving rash which means I may have to reschedule you.
- Eat a big breakfast and lunch, it is important you have energy for your tattoo.
- Wear comfortable clothes that give access to the area you are getting tattooed.
- Drink plenty of water!
- Don't drink or do drugs, you will be turned away from the studio.
Is it rude if I bring a book or listen to music?
Absolutely not, it's probably a good idea to bring something to entertain you or zone out with. I will be concentrating on your tattoo and wont find it rude at all!
Can I bring a friend along?
If possible please come alone to your appointment, as we have limited space in the studios.
I really like this drawing I found, would you tattoo it?
I do not tattoo other artists work with out permission, so please contact the original artist and ask first! I have tattooed illustrators work who have happily said yes, and I have also had clients be turned down by artists, so ask and see how they feel about it first. I love tattooing classical art, and copyright free reference photos and images always make great reference for tattoos too, so let me know what you're thinking and I can let you know.
How much do your tattoos cost?

The price then varies depends on the size, detail and design of the tattoo, and also the placement. A tattoo design on the ribs or torso can take twice as long as the same design on the arm, and the cost reflects this, so be aware different placement can cost a different price.
As a rough estimate, I normally charge the studio standard of £100 and hour.

My micro tattoo designs are at a fixed price for the flash available on my page. They start at £80 which is the studio minimum price, and then it is two for £140, three for £180, and four for £200.

I take full day sessions for bigger tattoo sessions or if someone wanted to get a lot of tattoos in one day. For example, I would be able to do three to four large pieces of flash that might be £300 each in one day.
Full day sessions are £700
Half day sessions are £300-£400

For smaller bits of flash or custom designs, I use use a sliding-scale pricing system, inspired by the wonderful people at Cloud 9 tatu in bristol, which works like this...
You’ll be given a price range for the piece (for example, a small briar rose on the forearm in black and grey is £200-£300, or something bigger taking a half day 4/5 hour session would be £300-£400) and you’ll be completely free to decide how much to pay, within that range. This is to help people with low incomes (which affects trans/queer/disabled/PoC/people from working class backgrounds disproportionately) be able to afford tattoos.
People who can afford to pay above the lower end of the sliding scale will be allowing me to keep on providing a service to those who can’t. You don’t need to tell me how much you will pay for the tattoo - I don’t want anyone to feel worried that they’ll be judged or that I’ll decide to do the tattoo for someone who offers more for it.

Tattoos are a luxury item, and the prices do reflect this but I try to make them as affordable as possible so if you have a budget please do let me know and we can work around that.

How booked up are you?
I normally book up two to three months in advance but I occasionally can book you in earlier if spaces become available. If you would like to be first in line for cancellations, send an email to sarahstrongarmstattoo@gmail.com with CANCELLATION in the header, explaining what tattoo you would like and I will reach out when an appointment becomes available.
Do you have flash designs?
Yes, you can find my recent flash designs on my instagram page and in my highlights. I have a flash book that you can browse through in person at Rye Lanez Tattooing, any time. Just pop in and ask to look at my books.
What is your favourite thing to tattoo?
At the moment I love to tattoo vintage revolvers and any of my pencil sketches. Fine line black and grey flowers and botanical bits are my all time favourite, but I love all the customs I do and love being surprised by fun ideas or concepts!
Do you ever turn tattoos away?
Yes, every now and again someone might come to me with an idea or a concept that isn't quite my style. I always want to do the best job for my tattoo and if the design isnt suitable for me I will put you in the direction of an artist that I think will do it justice.
I want a tattoo, but I am not sure what I want, can you design something for me to see?
Unfortunately with not guidance to go with, I cannot accept these requests, as my taste may be very different to yours. If you are unsure, wait a while and do some research on what you like or don't like and what imagery you would like in your tattoo and get back to me when you have more of an idea.
